MY TIME AT IUPUI
I became an IUPUI Jaguar in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. While entering a new school and taking online classes proved to be challenging, I learned time management skills, the importance of balance, and how to persevere through the difficult times. These are skills that I have benefitted from since returning back to classes on campus. While at the beginning of my college journey I was unsure IUPUI was the right fit for me, over the years I have found my footing as a student and found impressive academic success. Now as this journey has swiftly come to a close, I am proud to be a Jaguar and I am proud of all the ways I have pushed myself to be a better student, leader, and overall person.
COX SCHOLARSHIP
In Fall 2021, I was awarded with the Jesse H. and Beulah Chanley Cox Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to high achieving students who work while being enrolled as a full time student. A Cox Scholar is a leader in and out of the classroom, shows a commitment to funding their own education, and strives to contribute to their community on both a personal and professional level. As a Cox Scholar, I work part-time during the school year, maintain excellent academic performance, and contribute as a community leader in various ways.
HONORS COLLEGE
I was selected as a member of the Kelley School of Business Honors College going into my junior year at IUPUI. As a result, I was admitted into the Honors section of Integrated Core, otherwise known as "I-CORE". Honors I-CORE is extremely challenging and time intensive. Being an honors student has taught me how to collaborate with others, to prioritize tasks, and to have an increased self-awareness in professional settings. Kelley Indianapolis Honors offers highly successful business students with more opportunities to perform at a high academic level as well as increased networking opportunities to pursue influential professional relationships.
STUDY ABROAD 2024
My final semester at IUPUI I was blessed to study abroad in Maastricht, a quaint city in the south of the Netherlands. As someone who has a close knit family, this was a leap of faith. I learned an abundance of truth during my time away from home... about culture, about the world, and about myself! I have traveled to eleven countries in total and was blessed to see some of the most beautiful places. Although a lot of my time was spent studying, the most important lessons I learned were those found in travel. I learned how to be independent, and brave, and curious... and full of joy! The semester was a total gift and something I will not soon forget.
MOUNT ELBERT
In the summer of 2023, I summited the tallest mountain in Colorado, Mount Elbert. The summit of Mount Elbert comes in at 14,440 ft. The mountaineering experience was the hardest and most rewarding thing I have ever done in my life. My group woke up around 2am to reach the trailhead and begin our summit. Reaching the peak around 7am, I was drained physically and mentally, but oh so very proud. I have a vivid memory of face-timing my mom at the summit and immediately breaking down into tears. I was so proud of myself for what I had accomplished... a feeling I do not let sink in often enough. Through this experience, I learned to push myself and to test my limits. I am capable of so much more than I give myself credit for. I would apply this to future employment by always striving for greatness, pushing myself to seek optimal results, and giving myself the space to feel pride in what I do accomplish as a result.
BODY POSITIVITY CAMPAIGN

In pursuit of my Communications minor, I took a course called "Mass Media and Contemporary Society" in 2021. The course dove into mass media and how we communicate as a society through various media platforms. I was very interested in the course content and chose to fully invest myself and my time into my final project for the class. I initiated my own body positivity campaign called "Every.Body is Worthy." I created a campaign website, conducted personal interviews, and built my own Instagram profile for the campaign. I am passionate about promoting body positivity in young women and so proud of this project I was able to share with my peers. Through completing this project, I learned how to build a small spark into a tangible campaign. I was able to put so much of what I had learned at Kelley into practice. I hope to continue building upon this campaign.
I-CORE PROJECT

As mentioned above, I was a student in the Kelley Honors Integrated Core, also known as I-CORE, my junior year. All I-CORE sections are paired with a business and challenged to create a new stream of revenue for them. Throughout the whole semester, teams work tirelessly to conduct and create a business idea and presentation for the company. My honors I-CORE section was paired with Vedere Press, a book publishing company that specializes in the creation of high end coffee table books. My team created our own mobile application to promote local art sales in the interior design industry.
I-CORE allows students to tackle a project that lets them showcase their skills to solve real and timely business challenges. As a result of this intensive group project, I learned how to work effectively in a team, research and find relevant information, and see the development of a new product from the idea generation to the realistic implications.
HONORS EXPERIENCE
As a member of the Honors College, students are required to complete many assignments to better their academic success. In H200, I was required to reflect back on my engaged learning and leadership experiences. These experiences were meant to be aligned with our academic and personal goals as an Honors student.

My three engaged learning and leadership experiences are crucial to my identity as student. I take pride in being a leader in environments I feel passionately about. I love being in nature and outdoor leadership is always something I have wanted to pursue on a professional level. Not only have these experiences molded my professional goals, but these three experiences help me everyday to become a better problem solver, communicator, and community contributor.
